Frequent Jealousies

This is a frequent happening for me. My husband is someplace I’d love to be or visit. Right now. This week finds him in southern California visiting our families. I love, love California and miss my family intensely. Not to mention the amazing beaches and wonderful weather they’re having right now. Ugh. I’m rainy Nashville, suffering from debate-hangover, and could really use a sunny, sandy vacation.

Husband is often in places I would like to visit. He’s been to every state, including Alaska and Hawaii, so right off the bat, I’m jealous. Then he gets to spend some of their off days in NYC, LA, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Austin, Las Vegas, etc. and I wish I were there!

I know my husband appreciates having a wife who’s stable enough to hold down the fort while he’s away but sometimes I just want to up and go!

New slogan for Ashley: "Have Brody will travel!" (you may be too young to get that reference)
I say get a small dog carrier and head to the airport, carpe diem! But for the record, Vegas is NOT something to be jealous of, I assure you, lol.....

I know what you mean! My brother is in a band and last summer they got a gig down at the beach twice a month for four months! I was so jealous! I'm a total beach girl! Been over 50 times in 28 years with at least 2 more trips planned in the next year! And a friend of mine is a flight attendant and gets to travel to places I'd LOVE to go like Wisconsin (I'm a HUGE Packers fan) and Hawaii.

Do you ever go out on the road with the guys?

That is exactly what a man of God needs. A woman that can take care of the family & house while he is out doing God's work.
My Pastor travels alot. His wife has said it is very hard. But she knows when he calls & tells her what God has done it is all worth it.

I give you lots of kudos for holding down the fort, that would be really hard for me to do. I also will keep you and Leif in my prayers.

Look forward to reading your blogs!

Ashley,
Definately a hero of mine!
My husband took a job 2 1/2 hours away this summer. We looked for a place to stay for 4 1/2 months before realizing we were not supposed to be there! It was a brutal four months with him there and me and our daughters here, but just when I would want to really start complaining, I would remember you ladies. So willing and supportive. Eventhough it's difficult and often unfair to y'all. Somehow knowing that you were so willing to send your men off to do what God had asked them to do, made it much easier for me to send mine off!
God Bless YOU,
Lana :)

I think you should be extravagant. Responsibility is way over-rated. Be spontaneous. Roar off to see him in exciting cities. If he complains, tell him I said it was okay.
